iPads last so long that the battery is usually the first thing to give up, often years before the rest of the tablet feels slow. Apple would rather sell you a whole-unit swap. A battery replacement is much cheaper. Here are the numbers.

Signs your iPad battery is worn out

Drops from 100% to 70% within an hour of video or browsing.
Dies overnight while sitting idle.
Shuts down in the cold or under load even with charge remaining.

Screen edge is lifting. That can be a swelling battery pushing from inside.

Why iPad battery replacement costs more than iPhone

The screen has to come off first, and it is glued down over the battery, which is itself glued to the frame with strong adhesive and no pull tabs on most models. It is slow, careful work with heat and patience. Rushing it cracks screens and bends frames, which is why some shops refuse iPad batteries entirely. We do them every week.

Is it worth it on an older iPad?

Usually yes. An iPad 9 with a fresh battery is still a perfectly good Netflix and note-taking machine, and RM 300 beats RM 1,500+ for a new one. The honest exception is an iPad with a cracked screen and a dead battery and years of heavy use. At that point we will tell you straight whether the maths still works.

How long it takes

Same day in most cases, sometimes next-day if the adhesive fight is ugly or parts need ordering for an unusual model. We test charge cycles and seal the screen back with fresh adhesive before returning it.
